????Easter????- We can’t talk Easter without talking eggs 🙂
All the labels. So many. Confusing.
But learning what they mean empowers you to make the decision that’s best for you and your family.
The most nutritious eggs come from hens who have free range out on a pasture, basking in the sunlight, and pecking at the dirt finding little bugs for protein. Eggs described from a scenario above have:
1⁄3 less cholesterol
1⁄4 less saturated fat
2⁄3 more vitamin A
2 times more omega-3 fatty acids
3 times more vitamin E
7 times more beta carotene
4 to 6 times more vitamin D (1)
**And little tip: I always wanted to buy pasture raised eggs but couldn’t afford them. So I searched on the internet for a local farmer who sells them at a cheaper price than the stores. I now pay $3 a dozen for them which is cheaper than the stores.
And for fun… some other ways to decorate Easter eggs if you’re over the messy dyed ones :). My favorite is the egg spinner!
