Food Fact: Avocado

By March 16, 2020No Comments

FOOD FACT FRIDAY?

Every Friday I’m going to try to give fun facts about a food. I want to help educate on how nourishing and healing certain foods can be.

Since it’s ?Baby Week – I chose avocados.

A great FIRST food for baby is mashed avocado.

Why? According to the Mayo Clinic, babies need a diet high in fat to support growth during infancy. 77% of the calories from avocados come from fats with the majority of them being monounsaturated fats (the good kinds of fat) that can help with growth and brain growth.

Did you know that rice or grains don’t need to be a baby’s first food?
