If you’re anything like me, I struggle getting enough protein in my diet. Over the years I’ve tried dozens of protein powders, but never could find one that I loved. If you’re new here, {welcome!} you should know I’m pretty picky about the kinds of food and supplements I consume and give my family. And if you’ve been here awhile, {hello, old friend!} you know I definitely didn’t want any artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives in my protein powder. But I also wanted it to taste delicious. It seemed like a pipe dream.

Frustrated that I couldn’t find what I wanted, I decided to make my own! I’m always up for a good challenge, and boy did this one deliver.

I like whey protein, but too much whey didn’t agree with my stomach. Same with pea protein. I knew I wanted it to have multiple sources of protein. I knew it needed to have clean ingredients with no artificial anything. So I met with a local manufacturer and we got to work.

It took multiple attempts and so many tastings before they got it right. They kept telling me it couldn’t be done. I kept insisting that it could. And you guys, WE DID IT!

Like a kindergartner with a new puppy, I’m going to tell you aaaall about it. 🙂

This protein powder contains 5 different kinds of protein:

  • 100% non denatured grass-fed whey
  • Pea protein
  • Chia seed protein
  • Collagen
  • Pumpkin seed protein

PLUS

  • Cacao

NON DENATURED WHEY & PEA PROTEINS

‘Undenatured Whey Protein’ refers to whey proteins that are processed directly from milk and NOT from whey that derives from the by-product of the cheese-making process. Both the whey and pea are clean sources of protein that offer the full range of amino acids that are necessary for muscle health and energy. 100% grass fed whey contains omega 3’s that are great for reducing inflammation and brain health, as well as vitamin D which helps boost the immune system.

CHIA SEEDS

Remember when we only used chia seeds to grow hair on terra cotta creatures?! We’ve come a long way, baby! Chia seeds are now more than just a gag gift…they’re an amazing source of protein! A complete protein with all 9 essential amino acids, chia seeds contain fiber and omega 3- fatty acids to boost gut and brain health. It even supports cardiovascular health, too!

COLLAGEN

Collagen has become sort of a buzz word lately, but for good reason! It’s a protein that provides structure to much of the body, including bones, tendons, and ligaments. Collagen functions much like the oil in a car engine: it helps ligaments tendons and joints glide smoothly. If your car runs out of oil, the engine seizes up. If your body runs low on collagen, your joints could become swollen, stiff, and painful. Collagen has also been shown to act as a powerful wound healer, able to stop bleeding, recruit immune and skin cells, and stimulate new blood vessel formation. (If it could run my kids to sports practices I’d elevate it to best friend status in a heartbeat!) It can help repair leaky gut syndrome by sealing the intestines from toxins passing through the digestive tract (which would in turn wreak havoc on the rest of the body). It can help the appearance of skin as well as strengthen nails and teeth. Bottom line…you NEED collagen!

PUMPKIN SEEDS

Growing up we would roast pumpkin seeds after carving our Halloween jack-o-lanterns. As a kid I had no idea how amazing this simple snack was! Pumpkin seeds are a complete protein with all 9 essential amino acids. They contain tryptophan, which is needed for serotonin production. Serotonin impacts the entire body, and is a “bliss” hormone that stabilizes feelings of well-being, and can alleviate depression. And who doesn’t need more of that?!

CACAO

Not to be confused with cocoa, our cacao is sourced from fermented beans that have not been roasted. This cacao is full of antioxidants, rich in flavor,  high in magnesium (which is important for a healthy heart, brain health, and bone health!), and contains proven bliss chemicals (serotonin, tryptophan, tyrosine and phenylethylamine). These chemicals act as neurotransmitters, which are associated with feelings of well-being and can alleviate depression. Yes, please!

Not only have I included these high quality, nourishing ingredients in this protein, I’ve also poured my heart and soul into it. I can’t wait for you to try it.
