Numbers on Plastic Products and What They Mean

????????If you’re like me, SAVE this for reference! I can NEVER remember which numbers on plastics are ok to use and which ones to avoid. So SAVE this to reference back to next time you’re wondering.

And just FYI…
#1 is relatively safe, unless it’s used with heat or left in the heat. This can leach carcinogens. So that’s why its in both categories on the chart.

And #7 – that’s a category that essentially means “all the other stuff” and is composed of any new plastics, including bioplastics, and could also be comprised of different types of plastics.
