Day 8
What’s pictured above are NOT the only good options for beauty products. If you’re wondering about certain products or brands, I have a lot more options on my website under favorite beauty products and in my beauty guide!

REPLACE: Formaldehyde releasors

1️⃣Formaldehyde can be added directly to products or more often, it is released from preservatives. It is considered as a known human carcinogen and is linked to cancer and skin irritation.(1)

2️⃣Common formaldehyde releasing ingredients are:
DMDM Hydanation, quaternium -15, imidazolidinyl, diazolidinyl urea, polyoxymethylene urea, 5 brooo-5nitro-1,3-dioxane (1)

ADD IN: Antioxidants (from food) –

Antioxidants help protect your cells from damage caused by free radicals.

Antioxidants are molecules that neutralize the unstable molecules (the free radicals).

You need both antioxidants and free radicals (they can help fight infection) in your body, but you need a certain balance.

When free radicals outnumber antioxidants, it can lead to what’s called oxidative stress.

Oxidative stress overtime can lead to cell damage which contributes to cancer and other diseases.

What promotes excessive free radicals?
Things like:
Body converting food to energy
Toxins
Cigarette smoke
Alcohol
Infections
Radiation
High blood sugar levels
Antioxidant deficiency

Good thing? Your body has antioxidant defenses to keep radicals in check and you can get antioxidants from food.

Some antioxidants are vitamins C, vitamin E, carotenoids, flavonoids, tannins, phenols and lignans ( and so many more). Where are these found? Fruits, vegetables, seeds, whole grains, nuts, herbs, spices. Whole food ingredients!(2)
