SIMPLE DINNERS: Sweet Potato BBQ Chicken

SIMPLE DINNERS – On a busy night, throw some chicken in a instapot for 12 mins. Shred the chicken. Add some bbq sauce to it and top it on a baked sweet potato. So delicious!

But, bbq sauce can be a hidden treasure of chemicals. Remember there is always a better choice out there!

Many bbq sauces have gmo sugar (means sprayed with glyphosate), high fructose corn syrup, artificial caramel color, artificial sweeteners, and more.

What’s so bad about high fructose corn syrup (HFCS)❓

1️⃣Many experts state that sugar and HFCS are the key factors in today’s obesity epidemic (1).

2️⃣ HFCS is easily converted to fat. This is because the fructose part is not digested and goes straight to the liver. The liver can convert some to carbs but has limited storage so the rest is converted to fat. This fat accumulation can lead to serious health problems, such as fatty liver disease and type 2 diabetes (2)

3️⃣Several long-term studies have found a link between HFCS intake and cancer risk (2)

4️⃣Childrens Hospital Oakland Research Institute did research showing HFCS is directly related to leaky gut. This causes overall body inflammation. Inflammation is the root problem of many of our health problems today. (3)
